Just a quick head’s up for those of you who are still using E71, E66 or E63 (me – for instance ;) ). The new firmware just showed up in NAVIFIRM (ask Google for it…), and it’s only available for a few certain Product codes, most of them if not all of them are carrier branded so no vanilla ones yet. You know what do I have in mind right now? #chansefail. Why all Nokia PR guys are telling us about USB OTG but only in context of Mass Media Storage mode?! It’s well known that N8 can handle any device that represents itself in this mode, from little thumbdrives to even humongous 1TB external HDDs but no one ever said that it’s capable of plugging in some other devices such as… radio mouse. I’m pretty sure that we all have seen the video of my friend – Michael Hell where he is playing with both keyboard and mouse, but those were bluetooth devices and as we all know those are not cheap at all, in most cases – much more expensive than regular wireless keyboards and mouses.

Apparently it looks like regular mouses are working like a charm with the USB OTG adapter plugged in. Check the embed video: (more…)

There were some rumors recently that the Nokia N8, device that we’re all waiting for for so long is delayed. Today I made a little research on that and it looks like it’s all true… Sad, but true.

Yesterday we had a chance to attend special event held by Nokia Poland related to Ovi Music. That was our very first such event and the first time we’ve seen each other in person (me and Jarek). The whole event was held in nice, classy place called ‘Cukry’ (Sugars). It started at 6 p.m. with a press conference. As it turned out – Nokia Music store got rebranded to Ovi Music. There was also announced polish Ovi Music store. Some front facts about Polish Ovi Music Store:

• 6.000.000 songs
• Downloaded files are now in .mp3 format instead of .wma
• DRM-free
• Price tags are lower than ever – 24,9 PLN 29,9 PLN and 34,9 PLN depending on album (1 EUR – around 3 PLN)
• Polish Ovi Music helds a patronage of many local music events, concerts etc.

So it’s over. Nokia World 2010 has ended just a few hours ago. However it was fast how those two days passed, no one can say it was boring.

rodakk has already described what new appeared on Nokia World 2010 Day One. It was great, wasn’t it?

Now that’s pretty fast! Nokia C7 is apparently already up for pre-order in my home country – Poland. Estimated price is 1699 PLN (around 444 EUR) but our local Nokia shop always keeps things a bit overpriced so I’m pretty sure that by the time the device hit the shelves it’ll cost 100 PLN less (so it’ll drop to around 410 EUR) in other shops. It’s aimed to hit your pocket by the end of October, so be prepared!
