Easter eggs in Nokia S60 smartphones

18 Oct

Easter eggs. Some of you might not be familiar with that term so let me use Wikipedia to explain it to you.

“A virtual Easter egg is an intentional hidden message, in-joke or feature in an object such as a movie, book, CD, DVD, computer program, web page or video game.”

Nokians know that pretty well. Over the years I saw a few examples of that. In this article I would like to show you them. (more…)

Meet the authors: Kreativtek

27 Sep

My name is Jaroslaw Sroka, also known under alias kreativtek.

I am 17-years-old polish teenager, who a little bit stands out of the crowd. I don’t like to party, I don’t like to drink (too much), I don’t smoke and don’t take drugs.

But I am a geek.

My story is pretty long. I had a thing for mobiles ever since my brother got his first cell phone ever – Sony Ericsson K300i. It was the beginning of new era, world just entered the new age of technology, every new model was a hit and a sensation. It was also a beginning for me – even being 12 I know this little thing in my brother’s hand is something special…

Who stands behind Nokia’s social success?

21 Sep

Nokia has the strongest wall of loyal fans behind of all existing manufacturers. Those fans’ main weapon is social networking. Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare… Nokia fans use those services to communicate with each other, share news, opinions, feelings. Most of them are real friends, they like their geeky-talks and they love their subject of concern (what Nokia is).

The blogsphere is full of rumors and rants about the new wave of releases. I won’t be listing all that devices that we already seen leaked. Also, our almighty Eldar said that according to his sources, there’ll be a few version of N8. One of them will have qwerty keyboard. Now take a look at this comparison: (more…)

9 Sep

It’s time for another post full of insights, I believe.

Today I’d like to tell you something about hotspots and a general myth about their common availability.

I’m sure you know, what hot-spot is, especially when you’re a geek. But for some of you it still may be hokum and black magic, so I’ll try to explain it in the simplest way possible.
Hotspot is a free and generally available access to wireless internet. Got it? Great, let’s move on.

Bad Apple!

Sun, wind, bike and… Ovi Maps!

3 Sep

Recently, my fellow blogger, kreativtek was asked by Ovi Blog crew member – haikus to write his thoughts on the official Ovi Blog about his experiance with Ovi Maps on his bike trips with friend. As you can see below, Ovi Maps can be used not only as a in-car and pedestrian navigation but also IN-bike navigation which is pretty awesome, I have to admit. I’m also a big fan of Ovi Maps. It helped me out many times in many foreign countries and cities which I basically don’t know. Without further blah-blah-blah, here’s the story itself :) Enjoy!
