Have you heard that Nokia X7 is coming? Well, Ovi Store say so.

30 Sep

I admit, it’s not a hot news. The device was rumored since a while now, but those were only rumors. No release date, no specs and no blurrycam pictures at all. Well, it seems like Nokia is doing well in securing their channels of information but there’s a little something something that can confirm that device is going to be announced in the near future. I’m talking about Ovi Store and it’s device database. When you access it in normal way there’s no sign of the device but when you do a simple trick and just change the device name in the end of url adress… (more…)

Nokia 6700 slide unboxing

27 Sep

…and we’ve got another review unit! It’s pretty late because the device is here since a week, but… I was too lazy to post it. Forgive me :) So, coming down to the topic, I’ve got my hands on that little beast and first thing I did with it was that short unboxing video:

First impressions were pretty damn good. Great build quality and the Carl Zeiss camera… But then I found some disadvantages. I you want to know what I think about the device stay tuned for the review. It’ll be up sometime in the near future.

Meet the authors: Kreativtek

27 Sep

My name is Jaroslaw Sroka, also known under alias kreativtek.

I am 17-years-old polish teenager, who a little bit stands out of the crowd. I don’t like to party, I don’t like to drink (too much), I don’t smoke and don’t take drugs.

But I am a geek.

My story is pretty long. I had a thing for mobiles ever since my brother got his first cell phone ever – Sony Ericsson K300i. It was the beginning of new era, world just entered the new age of technology, every new model was a hit and a sensation. It was also a beginning for me – even being 12 I know this little thing in my brother’s hand is something special…

26 Sep

Just a quick head’s up for those of you who are still using E71, E66 or E63 (me – for instance ;) ). The new firmware just showed up in NAVIFIRM (ask Google for it…), and it’s only available for a few certain Product codes, most of them if not all of them are carrier branded so no vanilla ones yet. Obviously, there’s no changelog at the moment but there’s a little hint in all of the names: (more…)

Nokia N8 USB OTG Hidden features

26 Sep

You know what do I have in mind right now? #chansefail. Why all Nokia PR guys are telling us about USB OTG but only in context of Mass Media Storage mode?! It’s well known that N8 can handle any device that represents itself in this mode, from little thumbdrives to even humongous 1TB external HDDs but no one ever said that it’s capable of plugging in some other devices such as… radio mouse. I’m pretty sure that we all have seen the video of my friend – Michael Hell where he is playing with both keyboard and mouse, but those were bluetooth devices and as we all know those are not cheap at all, in most cases – much more expensive than regular wireless keyboards and mouses.

Apparently it looks like regular mouses are working like a charm with the USB OTG adapter plugged in. Check the embed video: (more…)

Who stands behind Nokia’s social success?

21 Sep

Nokia has the strongest wall of loyal fans behind of all existing manufacturers. Those fans’ main weapon is social networking. Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare… Nokia fans use those services to communicate with each other, share news, opinions, feelings. Most of them are real friends, they like their geeky-talks and they love their subject of concern (what Nokia is).
